Hey, Beth and Sara!

I was home and actually remembered to watch this episode -- and tape it, too! For some reason, the sound on Channel 2 was a bit brassy. I'm not a soap opera watcher and I was caught off guard by the amount commercials I had to pause for! Fortunately American Life doesn't interrupt Homefront like that!

Anyway, I don't understand all the negativity in those posted comments you shared with us, Bethany. I thought Tammy did a great acting job! She seemed a bit more hard-bitten and incisively direct -- even gruff, at one point. But, after all, she is a homicide detective trying to winkle out the truth about what really happened. And, yes, I did sense a bit of Ginger Szabo in some of her comments. I noticed how she hung in the background behind her companion, until it was her turn to deliver her lines. I like Tammy's hair. I always wanted to see her in some sort of contemporary role. She still looks great!

Maybe, the people who were so negative in their reviews of Tammy Lauren's performance aren't used to seeing an ACTOR in a soap opera! I was astonished at how flat the acting of the other characters seemed to be. These people also need to understand that, maybe, Tammy is SUPPOSED to play her role the way she does. I do hope to see more of her. It's the ONLY reason I'm watching Y&R! Maggie Sullivan and her partner were definately making the rounds, interviewing as many people as they could in the 38 minute running time of the episode (without commercials). I'll definately be watching and taping tomorrow! This is what my life has come down to since I've been unemployed --- taping soap operas!

Hey -- you're going to get a kick out of this! You know the guy who plays Victor? Well, he's from Germany and his name is Eric Braeden. He's been, more or less, a part of the German community here in LA for decades. My dad even had his personal phone number for a while, back in the 1970s! Back then, my dad had a Western cowboy stunt group called, "The Canyon Country Gunfighters." I was a part of the group. We staged cowboy/outlaw shootouts, and my dad was known as the US Marshall with the German accent! Eric Braeden came to a couple of our benefit events, back in the 1970s, for KCSN Radio. In our photo album, we have a couple of group photos with EB posing with us. My dad lent him one of his six-guns to pose with. We're all decked out in our regalia, with Eric Braeden, looking much as he does now (Except not as grey!) and posing like a tough gangster! It's a hoot! I'll try and see if I can scan these pics and post them on this page.

I can see where a name like Hans Gudegast wouldn't have made a successful American stage moniker. Perhaps, the surname, Braeden, is a family name somewhere down the line. According to his real surname, somebody in his ancient ancestry was a "good guest!" That's what it means, in Old German.

Boy, what a bad guy he was in Gunsmoke! maybe, he had that role in mind when he posed with us in those pics! Of course, doc had to operate and save Marshall Dillon! That was still the era of the happy ending! But then, you couldn't kill off Marshall Dillon for the same reasons you couldn't rescue the castaways on Gilligan's Island: that would be "it" for the series.

Yeah, I love Maggie Sullivan! She's so incisive and direct. She doesn't mince words and shoots straight from the hip! I love her lines! I really get a kick out of the one line in Maggie's debut episode: "all lawyered up."!

Tammy, if you're reading this, don't think of all the negative comments on the Y&R website! Instead, think of all of US who are standing behind you, in spirit, with OUR SUPPORT!! If they want to mount a campaign against you, WE will form the battlefront against them, in your defense!
