Hey folks, good news!!!! I just found out that Tammy is going to do a series of guests spots on The Young and the Restless!!!! She taped her first spot yesterday and is scheduled to either do 5 more or a total of 5, I wasn't quite clear on which. Anyway, Lynn said she'll let me know what the airdates are as soon as she knows.

This is incredible!!! I can't wait to see her on screen again. I've missed our little "Ginger"... Talk about a "setside source"! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for any press about her anticipated return. The soaps tape about 3 1/2 weeks out, so we should see her first scenes the week beginning October 16th. I think I'm going to start watching again now --- I want to be fully invested in the current storylines so I can better appreciate her character! |

Another update on Tammy's Y&R role. Her character will be Detective Maggie Wheeler
and she may be there a bit longer than originally thought. Lynn e-mailed me today and said Tammy "might be hanging around for a while." Yea!!!!!Sara |

I've never been a soap opera fan. But, if Tammy will appear on Y&R next month, I may be a convert!! I've tried to keep tabs on her career and I keep missing the movies and shows you all have been mentioning. If I have any "down-time" from work next month -- as I do right now -- I'll be sure to watch!! As for Homefront, there will only ever be ONE Ginger Szabo, in my eyes, even IF they should someday resurrect the show and continue it from where it left off! And, I hope future generations will love her role on Homefront, as I have, long after I've "shuffled off this mortal coil!" Steve |

Quote: EEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! This is so exciting! Having a last name is a big deal in the realm of guest appearances in soapdom!!! Now I could be wrong, but I'll bet that Detective Wheeler will be a member of the Genoa City Police Dept. There are already two private eyes in GC --- Paul and J.T. --- so I don't think another is necessary. Unless somebody wants to investigate something and keep it very quiet. What's funny is that I just uploaded this picture to Tammy's Martial Law thread and thought what a fierce looking detective she made! One of Y&R's most talented cast members - who plays a woman who is easily one of its most entertaining characters - is Michelle Stafford (Phyllis). She and Tammy could sooooooo pull off being longlost sisters! ![]() Sara, thank you so much for keeping us up-to-the-minute! |

Here's the official announcment, folks! Hot off the presses of the Y&R website at www.cbs.com ...
Tammy Lauren (Homefront) Arrives In Genoa City TAMMY LAUREN, who starred as Ginger Szabo in Homefront, will be playing the recurring role of Detective Maggie Sullivan on Y&R. Lauren's other television credits include Crossing Jordan, The Drew Carey Show and Home Improvement. Her first airdate is Monday, October 30. Happy Halloween to us! ETA: This announcement (with a picture!) was just posted at the official Y&R website Crime Gets a Makeover in Genoa City... Actress Tammy Lauren plays Dt. Maggie Sullivan, who gives one cold case a warm pair of eyes and ears. Find out more... ![]() Tammy Lauren, best known as Ginger Szabo in Homefront, joins the cast of The Young and the Restless in the recurring role of Detective Maggie Sullivan. Lauren's other television credits include Crossing Jordan, The Drew Carey Show and Home Improvement. What crime demands her attention? Stay tuned to Y&R to find out which mystery is in need of a fine detective. Her first airdate is October 30. Y&R viewers have already begun chatting about the announcement. Here are some comments from a thread at www.soapcentral.com: Well, I guess she'll be brought in to solve the Carmen mystery. I wish they would leave Dru alone now. Yep, sure looks like she will be involved in the Carmen exit story. Hopefully it will be interesting. I was really hoping this Dru/Neil/Carmen Storyline wasnt going in this direction. However, We've seen it coming for weeks. I wish they would just let Dru have some peace. A new female detective. Somebody is going to jail. I hope its Gloria, Michael and Kevin. LOL ....what happned to Kara? Is this the same girl that worked with Paul in Cleveland??? I can't really remember her name? Yep...this is the same woman that Paul was working with and I for one am GLAD!! Paul needs a separate life outside of Lauren and Christine. And I really hope she is not going to rehash this George Kaplan mystery flop. It's not the same actress or character. Kara was played by Sandra Hess. Detective Maggie Sullivan will be played by Tammy Lauren. I've read that Sandra Hess (Kara) was working on a movie, so that may be why she didn't stay on Y&R. I hope she will be Paul's new love, we'll have to wait... I wish that she was coming to catch Gloria but I think that she's there because of the Carmen s/l. A new female detective? May she be Paul's new love interest? I liked Kara. Too bad she was just on for three episodes! Dru has a big s/l coming up if what we speculate is true!... I know shes [Maggie's] got to be better than Paul and JT those two have to damn near trip over clues! and then they still might not get it right... She's just in time maybe Paul and her paths will cross and hook up some where down the line! I am hoping that someone will murder Carmen, and then we will have a great "who done it" storyline. Of course Dru will be their main suspect, but we all know it can't be our Dru. Since Will menetioned uyesterrday that the Jabbot creaminvestigation is still open, could she be cominng to help him out and not Carmen? Sounds like she's a detective with the police force rather than a PI and I'm wondering if she'll be working on the Dru/Carmen story? If that's the case I guess she and Paul won't cross paths. Now where is Kara? I liked her. Love Tammy Lauren! I was JUST wondering when LML would bring on an actor or two from Homefront. Cool! What is going to happen to Carmen in her exit story that would warrant bringing in a police detective!?!? Another actor from one of LML's previous shows coming over to Y&R? No surprise here. A new detective with a new mystery to solve. It is somewhat obvious what that mystery is and who it invovles. I agree with kaylin- it seems like this character is a police detective, not a PI. All signs point to her being involved in the Carmen story, which Paul probably won't be involved in. I liked Kara too, and hoped she would stick around. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tammy Lauren and LOVED Homefront. Kyle(can't think of last name) is now on NBC's Friday Night Lights. So glad that Tammy is joining the cast. She's an edgy actress in my book. Perfect for a detective. While I certainly don't mind a new detective making the rounds (and I kind of like Tammy Lauren from way back on Martial Law), I gotta ask: where's Hank Weber? He was cool... My guess is she will be looking for Carmen , but why another female when GC needs more men ! Given the number of crooks and criminals running loose in GC this new detective could be busy for years. Going on the last year alone, she could charge and arrest: Gloria -- the tainted cream / Kevin and Michael -- being accessories after the fact Kevin -- monitoring Jack's email / Michael and Gloria -- accessories again Dru or ???? -- Carmen's disappearance Gloria / Kevin / Jana -- drugging and setting up Alex and for blackmail Jack -- coercing John into writing a new will while in prison Jack -- setting up dummy corporations to take over Jabot Ashley and Michael -- planting drugs on Terrible Tom This woman could make her career just persuing the Fisher/Baldwin/Abbott clan. Personally, I think Carmen should be the least of her concerns. She's gone - good riddance. Focus on the other criminals still floating around spreading their poison. I know I am in the major minority, but i kind of feel bad for Gloria. He is a fighter also, going to Catherine and Jill to get her own title in jabot, shows that she cant be pushed to the curb. I have also heard rumors that either Victoria Rowell or Christian St. John may want out, but i havent heard anything more since then ( about a month ago) so I think it was just speculation. I cannot fathom more boring Carmen/Neil stuff.....it's bad enough he is opening a club (or is he still now with Devon ill/deaf?) This is amazing. I was actually watching that actress with Paul and thinking she would be a great addition to the cast. Also it always bothered me that that cops were always male. Cheers Y&R for reading my my mind. why would we haver to get involved in a long drawn out court trial? And besides, it is time they leave Dru alone. I hope she's a love interest for Paul, so he will have his own storyline and not playing second fiddle to the alter of Michael and Lauren's coupledom. And just because she's working on a different case from Paul doesn't mean its impossible for her to connect with him, since they both run in the same line of investigative work careers. |

Re: Tammy on The Young and the Restless!!!!

In case you're wondering who all these characters are that have been mentioned, I'll try and give y'all a little bit of background. Carmen Mesta is character that was introduced to the canvas just a few months ago.
![]() She's an executive at Newman Enterprises who soon became flirtatiously involved with another exec, Neil Winters. ![]() Well, Neil is married. And his wife, Drucilla, was either out of town or heavily involved in a new project. So she didn't notice what was (almost) going on until recently. She went crazy - slashing the clothes in Carmen's closet - and ended up spending a day or two in prison. ![]() The actress who plays Carmen has been let go and the character is supposed to be leaving the canvas in a couple of weeks. As most veteran viewers know, this is a perfect recipe for Dru's being suspected of murder! Will Maggie Sullivan be investigating a disappearance or murder case??? Another character that's been mentioned several times is Paul Williams, the eternally unlucky-in-love private investigator who ended things several weeks ago with a character named Ashley Abbott. He's always been "the good guy" and viewers would love to see him fall in love again - and be loved in return! ![]() A few characters that have been mentioned have been up to all kinds of corporate scheming during the last few months. Jack Abbott has been going to great lengths to anonymously re-acquire the cosmetics company founded by his late father, John. The company's called Jabot: ![]() His former step-mother, Gloria Abbott, has been involved in some kind of fuss over a product called Glo-Cream that she created or designed or marketed or something for Jabot: ![]() Gloria's sons have been up to their ears in hijinks of their own at some point. Michael Baldwin is the oldest: ![]() Kevin Fisher is the younger of the two. He's Gloria's baby: ![]() Ashley Abbott, who I mentioned earlier, is Jack's sister. She killed a man named Tom several months ago with whom she had been romantically involved. He was a baddie, so nobody really cared, but Ashley's late father, John, believed he had murdered Tom. John went to prison and died about a month ago. I'm not sure whether he ever found out that Ashley was actually the murderer. At least I think that's how it all went down! Anyway, Ashley and Gloria kept the truth from John --- so that case is still out there. ![]() Last, but not least, is Brad Carlton. He recently revealed a long-hidden secret. He is the son of a Jewish woman who helped recover artwork stolen by the Nazis and return it to its owners. When her life was threatened, he had to go into hiding. His name is actually George Kaplan. This story's still only partially concluded. Now that he's living "out in the open" --- will the Nazi underworld come after him or his family? ![]() The Carmen/Neil/Drucilla story sounds like a sure bet, but the announcement about Tammy's having been cast tells us that she'll be investigating a cold case. So my guess is that her story will have something to do with either Tom's murder or with Brad/George's background. |

Y&R has released the first half of their teasers for the November sweeps season. Here are a couple with which Detective Sullivan might be involved:
Katherine is plagued by disturbing nightmares that open up painful memories from her past and from her history with Jill. --- Sounds like a cold case in the making! Jill is the CEO of Jabot and Katherine is her former arch-enemy/longlost mother who owns Chancellor Industries. Jill and Katherine have mended fences and live together in a mansion. They only found out a couple of years ago that they were related. I'm not sure how many of the details around Jill's conception, birth, and adoption have been fleshed out... or if her father has been revealed yet. Colleen fights feelings of jealousy when Professor Korbel begins working closely Victoria. Meanwhile, Brad grows suspicious of the professor's interest in Victoria's art world connections and hires J.T. to investigate him, leading to a clash between J.T. and Colleen. --- J.T. is the young private investigator working with Paul Williams. Will the Genoa City police also become involved with this case? The art in question is the "Grugeon reliquary" - a piece stolen by the Nazis that Brad's mother once attempted to return to its rightful owners. Brad and Victoria are trying to locate the reliquary. Paul faces a crisis of conscience when Michael hires him to investigate Brad, drawing him back into the cover-up of Brad's secret past. --- Brad hires one P.I., and another P.I. is hired to investigate Brad! Will Detective Sullivan be called on to assist in this case when somebody reaches a dead end? |

Beth, Since I've never watched Y&R before (or any other soap opera since my mom did back in the '60s), could you tell me whcih of the major networks airs Y&R? If I'm still not working on the 30th, I want to catch Tammy's appearance! Steve P.S. Back when I was growing up, my mom always referred to her favorite soaps as, "my stories." She would often do her ironing in front of the TV (a large old set from the 1950s with a "blonde" finished cabinet. I watched Bugs Bunny cartoons for years on that old set!) watching her "stories." |

Steve, Y&R is a CBS soap. Here in Indiana it's the first soap which airs just after the afternoon news. And my grandmother called them "stories" too, although she didn't watch many. She watched Y&R from the beginning, about the only original characters left are Katherine Chancellor and Jill who has too many last names to remember! And the actress who plays Jill now isn't the original one. Another that my grandmother watched was "Search for Tomorrow". That's back when the soaps had that cheesy organ music in the background for dramatic effect (as Carol Burnett used to parody with "As the Stomach Turns on the Carol Burnett Show!!)

Sara, Thanks for the info! I figured it must be on one of the "big three" networks. Usually, all the soaps seem to come on after the mid-day newsbreaks. My mom would watch General Hospital, Days Of Our Lives, and As The World Turns. Sometimes, she watched Another World. Yeah, I remember that cornball organ music! That was a carry-over from the days of OT radio. Then, there was the video quality. Mike Nelson and "the bots" on MST3000, called it "soap opera vision." I always got a kick out of Carol Burnett (a favorite show of mine, when I can catch the old reruns) and her spoof of As The world Turns. She would call it, "As The Girdle Burns." It was such a crack-up! Later, I think the sponsors or censors made her change it to "As The Stomach Turns." Steve |

Re: Tammy on The Young and the Restless!!!!
|
With just one day to go until Tammy makes her Y&R premiere, the word is out on which storyline Detective Sullivan will be involved with... Here's the cover story from the current issue of Soap Opera Weekly. Maggie is mentioned towards the end.
************************************** WHODUNIT? You May Be Looking At Carmen's Killer! A bomb going off in the middle of Genoa City would have been less shocking to its denizens than the discovery of Carmen's dead body. But this week on Y&R, the surprises continue when it becomes increasingly apparent that there are no shortage of suspects that may have wanted to eliminate the dark-haired beauty. But only one person took that dastardly desire to the next level, and the hunt is now on for the culprit who has blood on his - or her - hands! Making matters even murkier is the fact that the blunt force trauma that killed Carmen could have been deliberate first-degree murder or a case of spur-of-the-moment manslaughter. Although killing the lovely Latina in a fit of rage certainly widens the pool of suspects, her rival, Dru, tops the list on both counts. "Dru has made no secret of her dislike of Carmen, so she is the No. 1 suspect as far as the police are concerned," shares Executive Producer/Head Writer Lynn Marie Latham. "It does look bad for Dru because Carmen was killed right before Dru had to go to court about breaking the restraining order. And everyone in town knew about the animosity between the women. But the Winters family is worried that one of their own could have done it. And they do things to protect each other." The Usual Suspects Ironically, a living-breathing Carmen was one of the main obstacles driving a wedge between Dru and Neil, but the woman's death will actually bring them together like nothing else could. "It's safe to assume that the entire Winters family could be put under the microscope, but especially Dru because of her pure hatred and disgust with Carmen, seeing that Carmen in her eyes tried to steal her husband away," agrees Kristoff St. John. "But the events surrounding Carmen's death have absolutely put their marriage back on the right track. I think it really is a matter of Neil and Dru being in this together as a team. It's like, 'We're in this together, there's no looking back, we stick to our story, and let's protect each other." The pressure increases for the couple, however, when suspicion also falls on their children. Lily detested Carmen because she perceived her as trying to put the moves on her father and break up her parents' marriage. Similarly, Devon had a few blow-outs with the 'other woman' on that same topic - and he was caught on the hotel's surveillance camera trying to deliver an envelope to her room. "Dru's concern for herself is compounded by her son being a suspect," confesses her portrayer, Victoria Rowell. "And she's implicated her husband...It's triple jeopardy in the Winters family!" Saving Devon As far as Devon is concerned, St. John believes that his alter ego will do almost anything to protect the young man. "When it comes to his son, he may try to stretch the truth a little bit, seeing as Devon is so innocent in his father's eyes - literally innocent as far as Neil is concerned - and somewhat helpless because of his medical condition," he says. "Neil is particularly concerned with his son's well being. So if and when the spotlight is put on Devon, Neil would be the first to back him up." While Neil has faith that Devon is innocent, he may not be so confident about his wife. Indeed, even Rowell admits that her character could have been responsible for her rival's untimely demise. "The unfolding events continue to show that she's capable," insists the actress. "It happens all the time, unfortunately, where someone goes into a corporate environment and pulls a gun on employees. So far, Dru has demonstrated that she's had an agenda. I've heard 'Stand by your man,' but Dru goes to great extremes at this point," she adds, offering a mischevious smile. "And just when you thought it couldn't get worse. It's going to get a lot worse for Dru!" Pushed To The Edge? Of course, Neil is hardly in the clear, either. "It would be a very interesting twist if Neil was the killer," St. John admits with a grin. "I don't think he is, but I think Neil began looking at Carmen in a different light in recent weeks. He had hoped that she would be a little easier on his family seeing how Devon has been sick, but she was on the warpath to see justice done for her own sake. I say this about sports - any team on any given day can beat another team depending on the emotions. I would have to assume that it's a very similar thing when it comes to this particular event. A man pushed to the edge, feeling backed into a corner, feeling his family's future is at stake...Would he be capable of murder? That primal instinct and rage to commit a crime as heinous as taking someone's life is not in Neil's nature, but I think he's capable of doing it if it meant protecting his offspring, his cubs and his lioness." The Price Of Silence The same could be said about several other suspects. Certainly Carmen uncovering the secret that Jack is Jabot's true owner shortly before her death could toss the mogul into the ring of suspects. "Jack will do anything to keep Jabot," Latham teases. "If he thought Carmen could hurt his plans, he could be quite ruthless." Jack's girlfriend, Sharon, has her own reason for shooting dirty looks Carmen's way. "She and Dru are good friends," Latham notes. And because her own husband was only recently seduced by another woman, "Sharon's emotions may be heightened." Meanwhile, Brad has already revealed the deadliest side to his persona. "To protect his family, Brad has proven he can do just about anything," agrees portrayer Don Diamont. "And he thinks that maybe Carmen may have heard something about his past. I think all bets are off." Hoping to direct suspicion from himself, the hunk takes a page out of the Winterses' playbook and has his wife provide an alibi for him. "But maybe Victoria's the one that needs the alibi," Diamont suggests. "Carmen was trying to get a lot of money out of Newman Enterprises; that made Victoria furious." In the coming weeks Detective Maggie Sullivan and D.A. William Bardwell will be quite busy sifting through the evidence. And Latham says fans may learn a few surprising things about Carmen. "A lot of people in town may have had a reason to be upset with her," she hints. "And if you remember, this may not have been a deliberate murder. This is going to be one of those times when nothing is what it appears to be," she previews. "There are so many layers here. One by one, we'll reveal the secrets in all these people's lives." ******************************* The article mentions a few characters that I didn't include in my introductions above. Needless to say, I've had lots of time to catch up on "my stories" during the last few weeks, so here's the scoop! ![]() Lily Romalotti is the daughter of Neil and Drucilla Winters. She's college-aged and is married to Daniel. Lily and Daniel have their own place, but she still spends alot of time with her parents and her foster brother. ![]() Devon is the foster son of Neil and Drucilla Winters. His mother, Yolanda, lives in another state right now. Devon recently suffered a bout of meningitis which caused him to lose his hearing. He and his foster family are struggling to learn how to communicate with each other. Devon is considering cochlear implant surgery - which may restore a fraction of his hearing. When he expressed a desire to move out of the Winters' house so that he could have some independence, Lily asked Devon to move in with she and Daniel. Devon attends the local college. ![]() Sharon Newman is dating Jack Abbott. She is recently divorced and the mother of Noah. Sharon lives at the Newman family ranch and works in the public relations department at Newman Enterprises. ![]() Victoria Newman is Sharon's sister-in-law. She is pretty much running Newman Enterprises these days for her father, Victor, who's been dealing with medical problems. Victoria is married to Brad Carlton and stepmother to his daughters, Colleen and Abby. ![]() Will Bardwell is the Genoa City District Attorney and has been prosecuting Drucilla for an assault on Carmen earlier this month. He has been dating a number of local ladies on a casual basis. One last note, another set of teasers for November sweeps was released and includes a mention of Maggie Sullivan: The mystery surrounding Carmen's murder continues, with many twists, turns and shocking revelations that implicate core characters, as William Bardwell and Detective Maggie Sullivan investigate leads with dogged determination. |

Y&R is on CBS Channel 2 at 11:30AM out here in dry, windy and fire-ravaged Southern California (I'm sure you're heard, on the news, of the Espiranza Fire that got started a couple of days ago, and has burned more than 40,000 acres, so far. Several homes have been burned to the ground and four US Forestry Service fire-fighters were killed. They now suspect arson). Steve |

Well, MY VCR worked today and I got to see Tammy's debut! Maggie was only on for a very brief time, maybe 7-8 minutes total air time, but there was a bit of the old Ginger sass about her! Maggie was investigating the death of a character named Carmen, who turned up dead behind a business owned by her arch enemy, Drucilla. Maggie commented to Dru that "It was amazing that Carmen just happened to drop dead behind Dru's bar."
I can't wait for the next installment! Sara |

Quote: Steve, I'd be happy to send you a copy. I'm checking to see if I can find any Y&R websites that put up video clips from each day's episode... If I can't I'll drop you a line to get your address. Detective Sullivan came roaring onto the scene like a hurricane today! She's a hardboiled detective. Loud and obnoxious and no-nonsense... I suspect she's always had to be that way in order to get things done at work. She's a tiny gal who works around a lot of men! What a treat it was to see Tammy again after such a long time. And there was so much "Ginger" in her when she started questioning Drucilla and Neil about why Carmen happened to die in the alley outside their jazz club. I felt almost as if I was watching Ginger question Jeff about what he happened to be doing in his room at midnight with "the landlady?" ! Wouldn't it be neat if Detective Sullivan hung around after the murder is resolved and we got to see a soft, feminine woman emerge from this hardboiled tomboy? My fingers are crossed!!! Maggie's debut certainly did not go unnoticed by Y&R fans on the message boards... For the most part, they were annoyed by her. Better annoyed than unnoticed! Here are some of the reactions: Who is the female cop at the crime scene? She looks so familiar...who is she, does anybody know? That's the new detective Maggie Sullivan, being played by Tammy Lauren. She was previously on the primetime series Homefront Her name is Tammy Lauren, she was on the shortlived show "Wanda at Large" among many others...I like her, she is spunky!!!! I dont know but that b**ch need to be pimpd slapped......i didnt like her attitude!!! At first I wondered why she was being so rude to Dru and Neil (actin like they were guilty just b/c they knew Carmen and they already had a lawyer). It made sense when she said that she had read about the trial. Still innocent until proven guilty right?! Your kidding right? Now a days its guilty until proven innocent. I don't like this lady, she comes off so condisending and rude. It also seems so forced. seemed like more of a cheerleader or circus ring leader to me.... almost giddy .. and for JUST getting to the scene.. she knew an awful lot huh. detectives and law enforcement ETC ETC.... always are SMOOTH this was elation? So, can someone please kill Sullivan? Not really, just kidding! What is the saying: "You attract more flies with honey, than vinager." Maybe if she were a bit nicer, Dru and others wouldn't be so hostile and or defensive? Just a thought. I do not like this detective, the acting is forced and the rudeness/cockiness is much to over the top. Sullivan needs to get over herself! I didn't like her either..She acted like one of those know-it-all-show-it-all types..and we have Nicki Newman for that! What was with Nick today anyway... her and her sanctimonious husband..for this Victor got better?! Just seemed to be over doing it just a bit..kinda like she has to prove herself since she is a woman so she is throwing her weight around..acting tough. Is she going to be a main character? One cant judge her off 1 or 2 scenes. I wonder if she and Paul are an item? ewww!!! I hope not!!! Paul can do better. Yea, she did come on a little strong. She doesn't even know Dru or Neil and already she's suspicious just because she read about the harrassment trial. I was looking for Dectective Webber; he's annoying but more convincing as a cop investigating a murder. I think her over the top attitude was just the show (or the actress?) trying to create a kind of "prime time"-like character. You know, all of the CSI-like characters? I'll bet that was part of the character description and they just overdid it. Why didn't they bring back Kara instead of this woman? yeah I liked Kara too..she and Paul had some chemistry going there and they never brought he back on... As usual they are gonna play it where the cops arrest all the wrong people and it will take someone doing their own version of "Sherlock Holmes" to get it right. Have the GC police ever arrested the right person? I like her. At least she has some personality. Usually soap cops are so boring. Yeah she was over doing it a little. Well i'll give her the benifit of the doubt. She does do primetime, right? or did at least. I think there is a big difference between primtime drama and daytime drama. Maybe Sullivan Is Carmen's killer! (Gotcha! You thought I was gonna say Sheila, didn't you?!!) Seriously, it seems weird that they suddenly drop this new detective on us when we've never seen her before......if it turns out to be true, remember, you heard it from me first!! I don't like this woman at all! She's already working my last nerve!! Too much to soon!! I thought that she was over over ACTING wow slow down do not be so LOUD. (((((This is a crime scene seal it off..Canves the neighborhood you know the drill .)))))..Give her some better LINES. i thought it was like watching SATURDAY night live As Long As She Goes After Dru, I Like Her! Her "Girly Macho Cop!" routine has been done a million times, but again its too soon to bash her yet! I did not like her at all! It would be good if Paul could have a love life but she needs to cool down that high and mighty attitude of hers! Jeesh! In order for me to like her she needs to calm down.. I like Tammy Lauren but she did come off a bit harsh. It was like she was Linda Hamilton's character in Terminator 2 with the machine gun. Her confidence & bossiness kinda reminds me of a cross between Carmen & Dru, but with a badge. she was laying on the Marg Helgenberger impression a bit thick I thought.... LOVE Tammy Lauren. Grew up watching her on lots of TV shows. I could go into some of them but I don't want to scare anyone with the amount of pure trivial crap I have stored in my brain. I look forward to seeing the show. Ah, Maggie with a big mouth and a crappy attitude. She ought to get along well with Drucilla. I was hoping for something a little more lady like. She could be a detective and still have charm, but her first showing blew any hopes I had for her and Paul. Paul, guess you'll just have to wait for Lauren a bit longer. You know I had to add my 2 cents to this thread!!! If you'd like to join in with a comment, registration is free and only takes a minute or two. Here's the link. Once you've registered, look for the thread titled "Who is the female cop at the crime scene?" boards.soapcentral.com/fo...y.php?f=11 ***Detective Sullivan is scheduled to be included in tomorrow's episode, too!*** Here are some comments about Tammy's new character from the offical Y&R message board: Is it me and my hubby or is Detective Sullivan too loud and cocky? It seems to us a detective would be quiet, mysterious and observant. She was making her presense known, shouting orders and practically accusing Dru before the cause of death was even determined. Rubbed me wrong already. I didnt like the lady detective either, she came off cocky and annoying. Just Another Know It All Show It All cop..who needs her?!! Same old stuff from the IIC....... Alot of detectives are that way. They make their living off of being suspicious of everyone. I actually liked her! I like seeing Dru and Neil squirm. She reminds me a little of Tamara Clatterbuck (Alice) and a little of Linda Hamilton from the terminator OMG delilah she so does! Does kinda remind me of Linda Hamilton. the way she came blazing in I thought for sure she'd have her guns drawn too. Shouting order's and making accusations. And when she told Neil and Dru to 'leave the premises', they could have just gone home then because she didn't tell them to wait inside, it was Neil that said, 'maybe we should wait inside'. That's the way detectives are.....Remember Detective Webber....very cocky, and very annoying, but you have to love to hate him because he played his role well. That was the first thought that crossed my mind too! It's TC! She even had some of Alice's manerisms!! I wasn't impressed with her but maybe she'll grow on me. She just seemed very casual the way she treated the crime scene....all part of the routine - no big deal. She lacked an air of credibility, professionalism or something. She is rude and obnoxious She shouldn't be accusing anyone That's not her job. I have seen her on other shows she was hand plucked by lml. if that's what kind of characters we have in store, then i'll soon be shopping else-where how unprofessional of her. i was getting annoyed with her real quick. Just what we need---a noisy loudmouth FemiNazi cop. I better lay in a supply of headache pills... Are they trying to get her to sound like the lady cop in "Fargo?? I think she sings the hit song "Symphony For Fingernails On Blackboard"... I bet it won't take long for her to "cook [Dru's] last grit..." I AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU ANOTHER HOT SHOT! SHE IS SOOO LML..... Count me in with the people that couldn't stand her! What happened to the other detective? she was a very obnoxious personality Actually I was thinking the opposite, she did after all get lots of information out of Dru-who just couldn't shut her mouth. Why bother having dectives? They never get it right and always end up with egg on their face. Soap cops are almost always so dumb. She thinks she's all that. Again, if you'd like to register at this board and add a comment or two, the name of the thread is "Detective Sullivan." Y&R probably has interns who review both of these boards to keep up on what the viewers are chatting about, so it's a good idea to make sure that Maggie's name is mentioned as often as possible! boards.sonypictures.com/s...y.php?f=13 |

Here are a couple more ways to express your enthusiasm for Tammy Lauren and her new character, Detective Maggie Sullivan:
1.) WRITE! Send your snail mail --- letters, cards, and postcards --- to this address: Lynn Marie Latham, Executive Producer The Young and the Restless Bell-Phillip Television 7800 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036 You can be sure that Ms. Latham has assistants who read her mail and keep a tally of what stories and which characters and cast members folks are writing about! Let's add Maggie Sullivan to that tally!!! 2.) EMAIL! yrbb@tvc.cbs.com If CBS gets a kick out of your email, they'll share it on their website! --- www.cbs.com/daytime/yr/community/letter/ |

Beth, Thanks!! I'm so angry with myself for letting time slip past me while I was out! Yes, I'd appreciate it very much, if you could send me a copy of that episode! Wow! After reading all those messages about Tammy Lauren' s Maggie Sullivan character, I don't feel so bad about Ginger in my story! Somehow, I had a feeling Tammy would be infusing a bit of Ginger Szabo into this character. I can't help wondering if this is a part of her real character? The negative comments you quoted only make me want to watch Y&R even more! Unless something suddenly comes up tomorrow, I'll be home to tape tomorrow's episode. Steve |
