Yes, folks - it's true!! As some of you know, our daughter Erika and her husband Mark, have been expecting their first child, a baby boy. He was due on the 18th of this month, but he decided to come early! Erika called yesterday afternoon to say she was being taken to the hospital by her mother-in-law. Last Friday morning, our daughter Erika, left for Ft. Stewart in Georgia to be with Mark, her fiancee. As of yesterday, Erika is now Mrs. Erika Hilliard!! Mark is currently stationed at Ft. Stewart and holds the rank of PV2, as he was recently promoted. Mark will ship out to Iraq in two weeks. He'll be gone until December. Erika will be coming back home to...

I haven't been on Homefront much (or at least logged on) in the last week or two. I've got myself into another venture. I'm knitting a stole on a Yahoo Group called "Mystery Stole 3". There are over 6,000 people all over the world, knitting the exact same project that I am. If you'd like to change this sad state of affairs, write to your favorite cable network and ask that they add Homefront to their lineup...

Hello all...just thought I'd drop in and let you all know about one of the funniest things I've heard in awhile. It's about a show called Jericho which aired on CBS this past fall/spring, and it's recent cancellation. Last week CBS announced that it would not be renewing Jericho for season 2, and the fans have gone NUTS! Here's an article describing it pretty well:

I have a new e-mail and I tried to change it on this board. They sent me an e-mail to my new address and I have to click on something in the e-mail to validate it, but it isn't working. What should I do?

My 2nd question is....how do you message someone on this board? Do they have to be logged in to do it? If so, Steve is logged in right now, and I can't figure out how to message him either, and I had been trying to figure out how to message...

New York City Trip

I recently spent four days in New York City traveling with a group of friends. We all used to work together at the same university, and now are working at three different institutions, so we get together once per year for a special gathering and decided last spring that we wanted to go to NYC for our 2007 trip. We did lots of walking, talking, shopping, eating, and drinking it was fabulous.

I'm SO excited, I'm going to Washington DC next week for the very first time. I'm only going to be there for a few days and the friend I'm visiting asked what I most wanted to see. Well, of course I said the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial, White House and Capitol Building I told her that a MUST on the tour is the WWII memorial. I'll make sure to take some pictures to share!

Hey folks, I have a job interview on Monday and would appreciate your prayers. I've worked weekends/ midnights/ holidays for the last 20+ years, this is a Monday-Friday job. It's still with the same state agency that I currently work for so I wouldn't have to start over with vacation, sick days, etc. so that's another huge plus. We here in the midwest are dealing with a NASTY winter storm right now, blowing snow, rain/sleet mixture, general all-around yuckiness! How are the rest of you in the midwest/northeastern states doing? I know Bruce lives just 60-70 miles east of me and I just heard on the news that his area is hard hit with power outages due to ice and high winds snapping power lines. Hope you're doing OK over there!
I spoke to Faye yesterday and they have over 3 feet of snow in her yard outside of Buffalo...

I'm just sharing a little excitement left over from last night's Superbowl with y'all!!!! Here in Indiana we're THRILLED with our Colt's first Superbowl win!!! We're so proud of the team and Tony Dungy's SUCH a wonderful man we're MORE than proud of him. Both he and Lovie Smith are really class acts.
I just hope the guys dry out by the time they get back to Indy today, it's 0 degrees here!!!!
